MORGANTOWN — Morgantown Police Department PFC Frank Fidazzo was 44 years old on June 11, 2000, when he died of injuries sustained in the line of duty. The 11-year veteran initiated the MPD's bicycle patrol.

Law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty were honored Thursday as part of Peace Officers Memorial Day, which included a ceremony in Washington, D.C.

Flags should be flown at half-staff on May 15 across Florida and the United States to honor officers who have died in the line of duty.
