Following the June 1 cut day, the list of teams set to pay the most dead money for 2025 was finalized. The San Francisco 49ers are set to pay the most in dead money while the Seattle Seahawks, Philadelphia Eagles, Jacksonville Jaguars and New York Jets round out the top five.

Former Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Ronald Darby is retiring from the NFL, according to a report from NFL insider Adam Schefter. Darby hasn’t played for the Eagles since 2019 but he was a starter for them during their first-ever Super Bowl -winning season in 2017.

The Eagles have $27 million in available cap space right now, but could have a ton more if not for a $55 million dead salary cap hit that places Philadelphia among the top seven in the NFL, per Over The Cap.

The Philadelphia Eagles made a couple of surprising salary cap releases earlier this offseason. They officially take effect on Monday and gain the Eagles about $6.4 million in cap space. Those were the cuts of Pro Bowl defensive backs Darius Slay and James Bradberry.
